The Napoli captain has returned to full training two days before the crunch Champions League match

Napoli were hopeful that they'd have their captain, Lorenzo Insigne, available for the match against FC Barcelona. It seems those hopes were answered as the Italian forward returned to training two days before the crucial Champions League clash.

Insigne picked up an abductor injury on the 1st August in the final Serie A match of the season. He's worked on an individual training program to give himself every chance of featuring in the club's biggest match in recent memory.

Insigne didn't complete the entire season alongside his teammates and this was the report on the club's website: "Insigne has continued his recovery and did part of the work in the gym and the other part on the pitch with the main group."

The Italian forward will have a fitness test on Friday which will decide whether or not he'll be able to feature at the Camp Nou. It seems almost certain Insigne will be at least named in the travelling party, even if he can't play.

If Insigne isn't fit, Hirving Lozano is expected to replace him and join Mertens and Callejon in the attack.
