The Reds are keen on taking the Frenchman on a season-long loan

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp is interested in Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele. The English club have made contract with the Catalan side about the possibility of taking the France international on loan. They want to strengthen their attack for the new season.

The Reds have a good attacking trio in Mane, Salah and Frimino but German coach Klopp wants to increase competition and add depth. He believes Dembele's skill and speed would add another dimension to their options.

With former Barça midfielder Thiago set to sign from Bayern Munich, Liverpool have now reached out to sound out the possibility of adding Dembele, too. They would take on his salary and pay a small fee for a one year loan. Barça have not responded but the initial idea is that they won't let him leave if it's only a loan deal.

Dembele, now recovered from his latest injury, is preparing for his fourth season at Camp Nou. In the previous three, he's been unable to demonstrate his full ability. Injuries have been his biggest handicap and last season was his worst in that respect. He's not played competitively since November.
