Messi has now scored more than Cristiano despite playing significantly less
Lionel Messi is on good form. The Argentine forward is back from injury and showed it with two goals and two assists against Real Valladolid on Tuesday. Messi's strikes took him ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in one goal ranking.
Messi, who against Liverpool last season scored his 600th goal, is now on 608 goals in his career. Cristiano Ronaldo is on 606 goals. In 16 seasons at Barca, Messi has hit those 608 goals in 695 games. Meanwhile Cristiano Ronaldo has 606 goals in 814 games - 119 more games than Messi.
Messi's numbers are insane. The forward, who has only played at Barca, has 0.87 goals per game, while Ronaldo has 0.74 per game across his career at Sporting Lisbon, Man United, Madrid and now Juventus.
