The Barcelona star hit a treble against Celta Vigo on Saturday
Lionel Messi has become the second highest goalscorer in La Liga 19-20, despite missing the first five weeks of the season. He hit a set piece hat-trick against Celta Vigo in a 4-1 win on Saturday that let him go second on eight goals, behind Karim Benzema on nine.
Messi also levelled Cristiano Ronaldo on La Liga hat-tricks. The Argentine forward has 34, the same as Ronaldo, now at Juventus. The former Real Madrid striker had been top of the rankings.
