Lionel Messi could not maintain his scoring run in La Liga at the San Mames, where Barca drew 0-0 with Athletic Bilbao on Sunday. The Argentine crack ended a run of eight games scoring in the top flight.
Messi had few chances in the game. One shot hit the bar, another free-kick effort flew over. He was more active in the passing and providing balls for team-mates.
The Barca 10 had scored goals against Espanyol (2), Levante (3), Celta, Getafe, Eibar (2), Leganés, Girona and Valencia. In total 12 goals in eight games.
Leo started the game although, perhaps still troubled by a thigh problem, was not hugely involved. He leads the Liga scoring charts with 21 goals.
