Hours before Josep Maria Bartomeu announced the name of his succesor, Ernesto Valverde, Lucho was flooded with messages. Lionel Messi was one of the first, writing on Facebook: "I wish you all the luck in your new era. Thanks for these years."
Sergi Roberto took to Twitter to say: "Many thanks to the coach and a lot of luck with your new challenges and objectives."
Ter Stegen was more brief, writing "Thanks Luis Enrique", like Neymar did. Luis Suarez was more expressive still. "Thanks coach. Especially for all you have taught me, thanks and success in the future."
