Liga title race: What do Barca need to win La Liga?
The Catalans need to win their games and hope for mistakes elsewhere
Everything is as it was, with one game fewer. Atletico, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla clashed with each other and both games were draws. Diego Simeone's side are leaders with three matches to go. It’s in their hands. Win three, win the league.
Barcelona, meanwhile, have to take nine points from their matches against Levante, Celta and Eibar, and hope that Atletico drop points, and Real Madrid drop points. Mission impossible?
Barca’s draw with Atletico makes it hard for them. They need Simeone’s side to drop three points, because they have a better head to head than Barca. That’s either a defeat or two draws. They also need Real Madrid to drop one point at least. That seems possible, because Real Madrid’s timetable is not the easiest.
Atletico host Real Sociedad and Osasuna, then travel to face Valladolid. Not easy games.
Real Madrid have Granada, Athletic at San Mames and then Villarreal. The league is still alive and open.
