The striker will not be available for the Catalan derby

Robert Lewandowski received his second yellow card of the match against Osasuna around the 30th minute for elbowing David García on the run. It was a surprising play from the Barcelona No.9, who was subsequently sent off for just the second time in his career.

The first booking was rather more dubious. He grabbed Nacho Vidal in the 11th minute of the game and referee Gil Manzano did not hesitate to pull out the first card of the game. The second, however, was clearer.

Therefore, the Polish striker will not be able to play in the derby against Espanyol after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The game will be played on Dec. 31, 2022 at Camp Nou.

This was the second expulsion of Lewandowski's career, the first with Barça and his first since 2013, when he still played for Borussia Dortmund.
