The Polish striker has moved to Barcelona and had his presentation on Wednesday in Miami

Robert Lewandowski is a happy man. He was smiling from ear to ear at a 20 minute event to mark his arrival at Barcelona in Miami at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach hotel.

Joan Laporta presided over the event in an intense heat, and was pleased to see the Polish striker’s pleasure at wearing the Barcelona shirt.

“Bon dia, moltes gracies,” said the player in Catalan, adding: “My name is Robert, I’m from Poland, I live in Barcelona,” in Spanish, drawing applause from the others on stage - Laporta, Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff.

“I am very happy to be here,” said the striker. “It has been hard to get it done but it was in the end, we have a lot of work to do.

“I want to be part of this great club and this impressive story. I want to make a new story and win titles. The last few days haven’t been easy but I’m ready to be part of the team, come to training and hope to play in the coming games.”

A born killer, Robert is ready to score. “Forwards have to be prepared to score goals (but) the most important thing is to win, that is my new challenge. You always have to be hungry to win and I’m at the right place for that.”
