The second leg of the Champions League last 16 game may be played behind closed doors
The Champions League game between Barcelona and Napoli next Wednesday (March 18) could be played behind closed doors, according to L'Esportiu.
The Catalan government are in favour of the game being played without supporters due to fears over the spread of coronavirus across Europe.
Remember that the games between Valencia and Atalanta and Getafe and Inter Milan in the coming weeks will be played behind closed doors, it's already been confirmed. Paris Saint-Germain's game against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday could also be played without fans.
A number of other sporting events have either been called off or played behind closed doors across the globe.
Barça have not received any official confirmation. A number of meetings are expected to take place across Monday and Tuesday with the aim of reaching a final decision.
If the game goes ahead without fans, it would see Barça lose out on a lot of money in matchday revenue. Aside from the tickets they would sell in the home end and the tickets that would go on re-sale via the 'Seient Lliure' (Asiento Libre') scheme, 5,000 Napoli fans are also expected.
It will not affect those with rights to the game, though, with the match still broadcast on television.
The first leg of the Champions League last 16 tie between Barça and Napoli ended 1-1 in Italy two weeks ago.
