L'Equipe: PSG reject Coutinho, Rakitic and 40 million for Neymar

According to the French paper, this was Barcelona's first offer

L'Equipe claim that Barcelona's first offer for Neymar has been rejected by Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the reports in the French newspaper, Barça offered 40 million euros and two players for the Brazilian: Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic.

The offer was put to sporting director Leonardo verbally, not in writing. Leonardo did not accept it as PSG prefer the money so that they can then sign the players they want from elsewhere.

Other reports on Tuesday suggested Barça had offered Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele and 40 million, but the signing of Frenkie de Jong makes the inclusion of Rakitic much more realistic, especially after president Josep Maria Bartomeu said that "Dembele is much better than Neymar..."

In any case, the saga is just getting started, with PSG coach Thomas Tuchel the latest to admit that he's aware Neymar wants to leave -- and has been since before the Copa America.
