L'Equipe: PSG called Messi but he only wants to join Man City
The French outlet claim Leonardo has spoken to Messi's entourage but he's only interested in a move to Manchester
Lionel Messi's future is still undecided but his desire to leave FC Barcelona had sent shockwaves throughout the football world. Every side with deep pockets have desperately consulted their accounts to see how they could add Leo to their squads. The two teams which immediately spring to mind are Manchester City and PSG.
The French side, beaten Champions League finalists, have spoken to Messi's entourage but were greeted with some bad news: Leo only wants to join City. This is according to 'L'Equipe'. The outlet claims PSG's director of football, Leonardo, has spoken to Jorge Messi about a possible transfer to the French capital.
Whilst Jorge Messi welcomed the call, he informed PSG that Leo had already decided to sign for Pep Guardiola's side. This means that a move for Messi is considered "impossible" by PSG.
Another issue for PSG would be trying to squeeze in Messi's high salary demands into an already star-studded squad.
Messi himself is hopeful he'll be allowed to leave on a free transfer but Barça insist that clause has already expired.
