Leo Messi seals an eternal link with Diego Maradona

The Argentine paid homage to Diego after his sad passing earlier this week

Lionel Messi took his shirt off and underneath there was a Newell's strip. It was the Maradona 10 from his brief time at the club, and a fantastic gesture from Messi, an intimate homage. It seals an eternal link.

Barca beat Osasuna 4-0 and it was the fourth goal, from a game that will be remembered for this homage. November 29, 2020. Messi looked at the sky, pointed his fingers and with Camp Nou silent, it touched the fibres of world football.

This was was needed as Barca got back on track in La Liga, with their forwards scoring - Braithwaite, Griezmann, Coutinho and Messi.

Griezmann looks refreshed, a kid who is enjoying what he does - look at his celebrations. "A conversation with Valdano can liberate you of many things," said Zubizarreta during the game, and he seems right.

Braithwaite also was good for Griezmann, helping connect him to the play, float around the No 10 zone, activate Coutinho and look for Messi. Griezmann plays best with a facilitator in attack, he shows that for France and previously in his career.

Dembele looks more mature than before, showing it while coming foof the bench, while Alena is starting to feature too. Brathwaite has three goals in two games now.

Most importantly, Messi was back. He finished the game with a goal and his historic celebration. Messi watched Maradona's debut live, as a six year old.
