The Barça captain has seen his best friend leave for Atletico Madrid

Lionel Messi has published a goodbye message on Friday for Luis Suarez in which he kicks off at president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the board for the way in which the Uruguayan has left the club for Atletico Madrid.

The Barça captain uploaded a post to his Instagram account with various images of moments shared with Suarez, who bid farwell to Barça in an event at Camp Nou on Thursday attended by Messi Piqué, Busquets, Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto.

The photographs of Messi and Suarez are of the duo smiling, but the message carries another meaning beneath the adios.

"I had an idea but today I went into the dressing room and it really hit home," Messi wrote. "How hard it’ll be not to share each day with you, both on and off the pitch. We're going to miss you so much. So many years, so many mates, lunches, dinners... So many things that will never be forgotten, every day together.

"It will be strange to see you in another shirt and even stranger to play against you. You deserved to depart for who you are: one of the most important players in the club’s history, winning things as part of a group and individually. Not for them to kick you out like they have done. But the truth is nothing surprises me anymore.

"I wish you all the best in this new challenge. I love you a lot. See you soon, friend."

Suarez headed to Madrid on Friday where he will finalise his move to Atletico, passing a medical and signing a two-year deal. He could be involved this weekend against Granada.
