Leo Messi posts an update on Instagram following his injury this morning
The Argentine star thanked the fans for their messages of support after he was ruled out of Barça's US tour
Leo Messi has been ruled out of FC Barcelona's US Tour. The Argentine star picked up a calf strain in his first training session back and will remain in Spain as he works on being fit for the LaLiga opener in two weeks time.
He took to social media to thank supporters for their kind messages following the news of his injury.
Here is Leo's message:
"I was desperate to get started but unfortunately a strain in the first training session means I will need to sit out for a little while. I'm thankful for all your kind messages and support. I wanted to be with the team and see our supporters in the United States. It wasn't to be this time but we'll see each other again soon. All the best."
Messi believes he will be back in action soon but he remains a major doubt for the LaLiga opener against Athletic Club which takes place on the 18th August.
