Leo Messi has landed in Rosario, Argentina

The striker is back home for Christmas after beating Pele's one club record

Leo Messi has landed back in Rosario, his city of birth in Argentina, to spend Christmas with his load ones. In images shared by the local media, he arrived in a private jet from Spain around 10.30am local time. A little after the family was pictured getting on a small bus which took them outside of the airport.

Messi is enjoying a few days of summer Christmas in South America but must make it back to Barcelona by December 27 to train ahead of the next La Liga match, against Eibar on the 29th.

Messi returns with a smile on his face having just broken Pele’s all-time record for most goals for a club, 643 goals for Santos. Messi’s strike against Real Valladolid in Barca’s 3-0 win on Tuesday took him to 644 goals.
