The Argentine star is not in any hurry to sort out a new deal with the club

As SPORT have reported, there is a good feeling between Lionel Messi and Barcelona when it comes to negotiating a new contract for him. But negotiations will not be fast. The club are waiting on the results of their economic audit to know what they can offer him.

New chief Joan Laporta must know the situation before sitting down with Messi and presenting him with the right offer that will convince him and show that the club can keep winning titles.

El Larguero say that the deal may end up being done after the Copa America. Messi will go with Argentine this summer back home for the tournament and his future may still be on the line at this point.

Messi right now is focused on ending the season the best way he can. There are just two games left and that will be when negotiations pick up speed, when they are done. His contract expires in June. The feelings for now are still that he will stay, but there is no date set for any deal to be presented or signed.
