Leo Messi back in Argentina to enjoy Christmas break

The Argentine forward left Valladolid on a private jet to his homeland

Leo Messi travelled to Argentina from Valladolid to spend Christmas with his family there after Ronald Koeman gave the squad a break until Sunday December 27.

The captain, after a goal which helped him move past Pele’s record, and a good performance, did not join his team-mates on the way back to the Catalan capital.

He took a private jet to his country from Valladolid airport.

Messi has barely been able to go to his homeland because of the coronavirus, only for World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

Leo and his team-mates have to return at 11am on Sunday 27 to training, ahead of the games against Eibar, Dec 29, Huesca, Jan 3, Athletic, Jan 6, and Granada, Jan 9, before the Spanish Super Cup clash with Real Sociedad.
