Clement Lenglet is now a Barça player after his clause was paid

Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet has become Barcelona's second signing of the summer. The France centre-back, pending official confirmation, is now a Barça player after the agents of the player deposited the release clause with La Liga to buy him out of his contract.

Lenglet's people paid 35 million euros, plus taxes, after Sevilla refused to negotiate with Barça. The Catalan side had hoped to pay more, with the payment then made in instalments rather than a one-off fee.

Lenglet is currently in Benidorm with Sevilla, working with Pablo Machin's side. However, he plans to leave in the coming outs and travel to Barcelona, where he will be presented as the club's new signing and start training with Ernesto Valverde's team.

With the clause paid, Lenglet becomes Barça's second piece of business this summer following the confirmation of the signing of Arthur Melo, who will be presented at Camp Nou on Thursday after signing from Gremio.

Lenglet, meanwhile, could be presented on Friday.
