The General Director of Leganes, Martín Ortega, thanked Braithwaite for his "professionalism" during the whole process

Leganes response to losing Martin Braithwaite to Barça didn't take long. The general director at the club, Martin Ortega, spoke immediately following the news of the striker's switch to the Camp Nou. "We harbour no ill will towards Barça. They used the current rule and that's all there is to say. The rule isn't fair because it punishes us. I don't understand how Barça's problem has now been passed over to Leganes. We want to compete equally and we are going to use everything we can to sign someone in the next few days."

Ortega also had nothing but positive things to say about Braithwaite. "The player has been a gentleman and professional. He trained as normal, knowing an injury could risk losing this opportunity. We're grateful for everything he's done for us."

Leganes are refusing to give up the fight in regards to signing a replacement. "We are hopeful that we'll be allowed to sign someone. We're in discussions. Whatever happens, we'll fight to the end. No one should give up on us."
