Left or right footed? Ousmane Dembele's greatest skill and the stats

The French player can use both feet equally well and it's a huge weapon

Ousmane Dembele is not a punctual guy but he has a lot of other virtues. One of them is very hard to find in football and that is his capacity to use his right and left foot indiscriminately.

“I try to use both feet,” said Dembele at his presentation. “I like to play with both. I like to dribble with the left and shoot with the right,” he declared. Words that confirmed what he said when he was at Rennes. “I’m left footed but penalties I shoot with the right, I kick it better.”

This season he has scored nine goals, five with the left and four with the right. More have come with the foot he doesn’t prefer to shoot with.

Against Huesca, Real Sociedad, Rayo Vallecano, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham he scored with the left, while against Sevilla, PSV, Valladolid and Espanyol he netted with the right.

Of his goals with the right, only the one against Real Valladolid was a first time effort. While three with the left were first touch strikes. That indicates his instinct is to kick with his left.

His ability with both feet gives him a huge weapon when it comes to running at opponents and dribbling, something that Pedro Rodriguez, now at Chelsea, had too. Dembele can’t be left one-on-one as he can go either side.
