Leeds United among Premier League clubs keen on Barça's Abde

| sport

The winger's future is uncertain following a good campaign on loan at Osasuna

Ez Abde's future is still up in the air and will remain so for the next few months. Barcelona hold the winger in very high regard in part because of the season he is having on loan at Osasuna. He will return in the summer and the Catalan club want him to do the pre-season as a Blaugrana; however, whether he has a place in the first team will depend on the sporting and economic needs.

At Barça, they are conscious of the reputatuon that Abde has and several clubs have already shown their interest in signing him. The sporting direction rate him, especially given that his profile as a left winger is not found in the current squad, but his continuity will depend on the number of departures and arrivals that are carried out.

In fact, in the press conference prior to the league game against Girona, Xavi Hernandez was asked about Abde's performances -- after scoring both goals in Osasuna's win against Elche -- and he left everything open.

"He's making good use of his loan spell, he's making a difference and he's being professional. He has played very good games for Osasuna and the challenge is that at Barça he always has that continuity," Xavi said.

"The level he showed [on Saturday] with Osasuna is the level he should always show because this is Barça. Here he must show his best level and have continuity. We will value it and we will decide what to do with him."

The Premier League

His agent, Javier Garrido, has travelled to the United Kingdom and has met with Leeds United to discuss the future of the player he represents. The English side are thinking of Abde to reinforce their forward line and, if they manage to stay in the Premier League, they will make an offer for the Moroccan. Javi Gracia's side are currently in 16th place with 29 points.

Aston Villa had previously made a bid for Abde. Unai Emery's side are sixth in the Premier Leaue on 47 points, occupying a Conference League position. They are also six points adrift of Tottenham in the Europa League and nine points behind Manchester United and Newcastle, who occupy Champions League places.

Abde's profile is generating interest in England, where teams have more economic muscle than in LaLiga. For Osasuna, he has played 26 games, in which he has scored five goals, as well as providing two assists. He played three games at the Qatar 2022 World Cup with Morocco, who reached the semi-final.
