The striker has been wanted by Barcelona for over a year

Lautaro Martinez was very close to signing for Barcelona last summer but the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic complicated matters and he stayed at Inter Milan, where this season he won Serie A.

Despite that, the Argentine forward has not forgotten about Bará, as his agent, Alejandro Camaño, has revealed to SPORT.

"We're very relaxed, we have to resolve the situation with Inter first, but of course he would like to. Who would not like to play for Barcelona? They're one of the biggest clubs in the world," the agent said.

However, he added: "No one from Barcelona has called me. I have a very good relationship with Mateu (Alemany), but there's nothing, so we're not thinking about it now."

Camaño, though, assured that "Lautaro is ready for any challenge. He's a player that doesn't go unnoticed and can handle any sort of responsibility."

In that sense, he commented that "I don't know what happened last year with Lauti, they told me that his ex-agent had spoken about Barça, but it was all a bit confusing... our job now is to find out the situation with Inter's project and to listen to the offers that arrive."

Camaño added that "we are good as we are, but we will see..."

According to Sky Sport in Italy, Inter have put a 90 million euros price tag on the striker's head.

"90 million is exaggerated," Camaño said. "Everything has a price, even though it doesn't seem to me Inter are talking about selling. We have to see what happens in the market depending on Inter's situation."

In addition, Lautaro has put the brakes on a renewal with Inter, with his contract up in 2023 and the club keen to tie him down for an additional year.

"They made us an offer but for now we've said that we are happy how we are," Camaño finished.
