With the bank guarantee sorted, Laporta can take charge at Camp Nou

Joan Laporta will officially become the new Barcelona president on Wednesday. After meetings into the night on Tuesday to be able to form his new executive board and come up the €125 million bank guarantee, the club have confirmed that Laporta will return to the role he held between 2003 and 2010.

The inauguration event will be held on Wednesday at Camp Nou, starting at 6pm local time. Per the club's statutes, Laporta had 10 days after winning the election to form his board and come up with the guarantee and Wednesday marks the 10th day. With everything now sorted, he can start his role as president.

In comments to Cope, Laporta said he never feared not getting the bank guarantee: "I didn't struggle to get the guarantee. We've come out late (of the meeting to finalise the last details) because the occasion deserved it."
