The Barça president tried to bite his tongue but did complain about officiating in Spain

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has criticised the performance of referees in Spain, although he stopped short of going all in.

Laporta was appearing to speak about the ticketing fiasco against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League, but was also asked about the standard of refereeing domestically.

"There are situations occurring that should be commented on every now and again and are ver obvious," Laporta said, before biting his tongue.

"But this is not the day, we are speaking about another issue. There are situations that we've not agreed with, but I don't want to talk about this subject.

"I hope those in charge of refereeing do what is possible to make it how it should be, with complete objectivity, and that we don't see these obvious situations that keep happening because it distorts the competition."
