Laporta: Messi got the buffalo of Guernica off him in red card incident
The presidential candidate spoke about Leo's dismissal against Athletic Bilbao
Joan Laporta, one of Barca’s presidential candidates, spoke about Lionel Messi’s red card against Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup final.
He said that what Messi did in the clash with Asier Villalibre was not aggression.
“I think that Messi tried to get the buffalo of Guernica off of him,” Laporta told Tot Costa on Catalunya Radio. “I like him but he always goes for the clash. He barged intentionally into Messi’s path.”
The Barca No 10 was dismissed at 3-2 down in the final minutes as Barca tried to fight for an equaliser. He will miss the Copa del Rey game against Cornella and the La Liga match with Elche on Sunday.
