The Barcelona president spoke at an event on Monday where he said he was ready to fight in the Negreira case

The president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, went on the attack in relation to the 'Negreira case' in an event which gathered all of the captains of the club. "I really want to confront all the shameless people who are staining our badge," said Laporta.

The Catalan, who showed a message of calm on his personal Twitter profile, highlighted the historical importance of a club like Barça: "Barça is a club with values. The club is admired and recognised all over the world. It also happens that some, motivated by envy, try to erode our reputation with campaigns made in bad faith".

In this vein, the club's top representative has clearly gone in to bat for the Blaugrana. "There are some ferocious attacks to sully our crest, which have nothing to do with reality. And you can be sure that the board of directors that I have the honour of presiding over will defend it with all our might," said Laporta.

"They won't succeed because the Barça captains represent our values and our feelings and you show it on the pitch when you give your all and to the last drop of your blood," he added.
