LaLiga call urgent assembly to listen to Laporta's Negreira explanation

The league hope all clubs will be represented in the summit on 19th April

On 19th April, LaLiga have called and the Extraordinary Assembly in which, among other issues to be discussed, the 'Negreira case' will be analysed.

The clubs expect the attendance of Barcelona and Real Madrid presidents Joan Laporta and Florentino Pérez, who are not regulars at the Assemblies.

In addition, they specifically want explanations from the Barça chief who, so far, has postponed them while waiting for an audit that is being carried out.

The last meeting was held on 20th February and some tension was generated because the clubs did not like the statement issued by Barcelona after the first information about the 'Negreira case' was made public.

In that statement, it implied that what happened was a common practice that all the clubs were doing.

With the exception of Real Madrid, the rest of the clubs issued a statement describing what was beginning to be known about the 'Negreira case' as very serious.

It was later when Madrid decided to take part in the case, after the accusations from the Public Prosecutor's Office became known.

As the days go by, the 'Negreira case' is going from strength to strength, with Barcelona calling for the resignation of Tebas and the clubs waiting for Laporta to give a credible version of what happened.
