The Catalan club have been in financial difficulties for a while now
Shortly before the official appearance of Javier Tebas, president of La Liga at a press conference, Spanish football's governing body published the new salary limits for first and second-division teams after the recent winter transfer window.
These figures, in Barça's case, have once again been reduced due to the club's financial problems. Thus, they have gone from the 656,429,000 million euros of the last summer market to the new level of 648,824,000 million euros. A difference of 7.5 million euros that Barça needed to reduce in order to register all the players in their squad.
