"Koundé has signed for Chelsea," jokes Laporta about the Barça target

The president of FC Barcelona replied to a fan asking him in Las Vegas about the ongoing negotiations for the Frenchman

In what's probably all part of the three-way joust that the Koundé operation has become, Joan Laporta, upon the arrival of the FC Barcelona expedition to Las Vegas, replied to an FC Barcelona fan who asked him about the signing of the French centre-back, in a video broadcast by Relevo.

"Are Barça going to sign Koundé?" the boy asked him. "No, not Koundé. He's signed for Chelsea," Laporta answered, who in an interview a few days ago said that "now we are going to focus on the defence". It is most likely a joke, however, keeping up with the contest between the three clubs. Presently, Sevilla prefer to close the deal with Chelsea, but the player unexpectedly showed up at the exit of the team bus, on the way to the training camp in Lagos, Portugal.

The gesture by the central defender is understood to mean he is willing to wait patiently for FC Barcelona to have the liquidity it needs to place their offer to the Sevillian club.
