The winger will be promoted to Barça B once everything becomes official
Konrad de la Fuente's renewal with FC Barcelona is on the brink of being made official. In fact, it could be announced in the next few days and it would allow the American youngster to become a full member of Barça B this season. He's been a regular under Garcia Pimienta.
Barcelona don't want to lose one of their most promising talents, although negotiations haven't gone smoothly. Things have advanced in recent weeks and both sides are confident of finalising the minor details soon. An announcement could come as soon as Jose Mari Bakero, in charge of Barça B matters, returns from a trip.
To sign or not to sign
Once Konrad de la Fuente is officially promoted to Barça B, it could have knock-on effects to the rest of the squad. There's still no decision on whether the club should sign a replacement after Hiroki Abe was ruled out for five months. The club wants to give chances to the youngsters and they feel the likes of Konrad, Peque or Ilaix Moriba are ready to step up when needed.
