The teenager played the second hald of the friendly win against Nastic

Konrad de la Fuente made history on Saturday when he became the first American to play for FC Barcelona. The forward played the second half of the 3-1 win against Gimnastic de Tarragona at the Johan Cruyff stadium.

Konrad, 19, made his mark in the 45 minutes he was on the pitch, even scoring, albeit for the goal to be incorrectly ruled out for offside.

Born in Miami to parents from Haiti, Konrad first joined Barça's La Masia academy in 2014 and was with the U19s last season before ending the campaign with the B team.

He scored in the B team's promotion playoff as they just missed out on a return to the second division. Quique Setien then called him up for the first team for the Champions League. He travelled to Lisbon but did not debut.

Konrad signed a new deal this summer tying him to Camp Nou until 2022 with an option for two more years. His current release clause is 50 million euros but it will double if the extra two years on his contract are executed.
