Koeman's posture on January loan move for Barça's Riqui Puig

The coach will accept Puig's decision if he doesn't want to leave Camp Nou

Riqui Puig was one of the players Barcelona planned to place on the market in January. The Blaugrana have received a number of offers from around Europe, but the player is not keen on leaving even though he's hardly played this season.

Barça boss Ronald Koeman accepts that Puig is likely to stay until June, if he maintains his decision, although he would prefer him to go on loan to play minutes and continue to develop. But the decision seems final.

Koeman spoke with Puig in the summer and made it clear he would not play often. He wasn't lying: the youngster has been used infrequently.

Public messages have been sent, but Riqui insists on staying and fighting for his place in the team. He's fully determined and Koeman has no option but to keep him around.

Koeman respects his decision, although Barça will meet with the midfielder again to make one final attempt for him to accept a loan move.
