Koeman speaks about possible exits in the January transfer window

The Dutch coach says those not playing as often could be allowed to leave

The transfer window opens in January but it will be difficult for Barcelona to do anything before Jan. 24, when a new president will be elected.

Coach Ronald Koeman recognises that it makes things difficult but says talks are still ongoing with those currently at the club about ins and, above all, potential outs.

"In principle, we are speaking about things to do with the team, where we can improve, what is best for those that don't play as often, but it's not definitive, so I don't like to speak about individual cases," Koeman said Monday.

The Dutch coach added: "Our job is to prepare ourselves so that when there's a president we can finalise things."

On the young players that aren't getting minutes, Koeman didn't deny he believes they should look for an exit in January.

"I repeat that now it's about being prepared and if there's something we like or works well for a young player, being with another team for six months, we will speak first with the players," he said.

"Each player can make the decision if they want to (leave) or not, but we give advice to a player that doesn't play as often and who we won't use much."

Not wanted

The players that come to mind in this case are Riqui Puig, Carles Aleña, Junior Firpo and even Samuel Umtiti, although Koeman was clear he would not give names.

However, he hopes that the work Barça do now can help them be in a place to do business once the new president is elected in late January.

"It's our job and we must be prepared," Koeman said. "I hope one week will be enough."
