Koeman: Sign a No.9 in January? I've said we need one several times
The Barcelona coach wants the club to invest in a striker when the transfer window opens
Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman reiterated his desire for the club to sign a striker in January ahead of Wednesday's Champions League game against Dynamo Kyiv at Camp Nou.
Koeman wanted to sign Memphis Depay in the summer but the club's finances prevented a deal being done and he says he will understand if there's no money in January, too.
"Everyone knows my position in that sense," he said when asked if he wants a new centre forward. "I think I have said various times that we need a No9 but it depends on the club's financial position in January.
"We have to wait. I don't want to force it because I came knowing the financial situation at the club. If it's not possible, it's not possible, we will keep working with what we have got."
Koeman has been critical of Barça's finishing in recent weeks. They are without a win in four league games and spurned a number of chances in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Alaves.
