Barcelona's director of youth football believes it could make them better players

Patrick Kluivert, Barcelona's director of youth football, has said in an interview with Onda Cero that players like Carles Aleña and Riqui Puig could go on loan in search of the necessary minutes to complete their development.

The Dutchman used Aleña as an example, saying that "it wouldn't be a bad thing for him to get minutes and experience and become a better player."

In reference to the situation of Aleña and Puig, who are both struggling to break into the first team's midfield, Kluivert added. "Players like them have to look out for their futures and do what's best for them and for the club."

It has been a bad week for Barça youngsters, with the U19s knocked out of the UEFA Youth League in the group stage for the first-ever time following a 2-1 defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund.

"I am disappointed with how they did in the Youth League, it's a really big blow but now we have to look forward," Kluivert said.
