The returning Dutchman is already making his mark on the academy

It was a busy summer at La Masia. It started with the departure of seven coaches, in the middle of July, changes driven by the director Xavi Vilajoana. However, the arrival of Patrick Kluivert and Pep Segura's exit have been received with open arms and there's optimism surrounding the new generation.

Since his first day back at the club, Kluivert has got to work in getting up to date on all goings-on at Barça's academy. He is already working on renewing the deals of the best players in the Cadete A team (U16s) to avoid having to see the club lose more of its best talent.

Alongside him is Jordi Roura, named technical secretary for the academy, who has ample knowledge of every age group at the club, especially in football 7s. Aureli Altimira is then responsible for all the 11-a-side teams.

Despite the enthusiasm, there's also a desire for everyone to keep their feet on the ground and not accelerate the development process of any of the promising players. With Ansu Fati, part of the U19 team in the summer, everything's moved quickly and the results are excellent, but not all cases will progress in the same way. For that reason, complete confidence in La Masia but also patience.
