The young midfielder is set to return for a second spell at the Catalan club

Kays Ruiz confirmed on Tuesday what has become an open secret: he will not stay at Paris Saint-Germain following the expiry of his contract.

The French midfielder will instead seek a new challenge and could be set to return to Futbol Club Barcelona to play for their B team next season.

"Here I learned everything," wrote Kays Ruiz, who left Barça over their transfer ban for signing international minors in 2014. "Here I realised my dream of playing with the best players in the world and becoming a professional. Here I was able to make my mum, dad, family and friends proud. Here I have become a man."

Barça have been working on a deal for Kays Ruiz for a while. The 18-year-old could start his second spell at the club after the summer with the aim of breaking into the first team as soon as possible.

Under Thomas Tuchel he was close to breaking into the PSG first team, but he took a step back under Pochettino after refusing to sign a new deal.
