Juventus propose Pjanic-Ramsey swap deal

The Bosnian midfielder has failed to make an impact at Camp Nou and Barça needs to urgently reduce its wage bill

Barça are struggling to find moves for several members of its first team squad. One such player is Miralem Pjanic, who joined Barcelona last summer but has not managed to cement a place in Ronald Koeman's first team. Instead, he has watched much of his first season at the club from the sidelines.

The experienced midfielder has failed to make an impact and Barça is desperately trying to get his wages off the books. The Bosnian international is one of Barça's highest earners, and the club are trying to find suitors for the player before the start of next season.

This is where Juventus, Pjanic's last club, comes into the equation. It is understood that 'The Old Lady' would be willing to bring the player back to Turin, where he played between 2016 and 2020 and picked up four back-to-back league titles.

Reports from Italy suggest that Juventus have proposed a swap deal involving Miralem Pjanic and Welsh international Aaron Ramsey. The former Arsenal midfielder, who is the same age as Pjanic, signed for Juventus two years ago but has failed to nail down a starting role. Ramsey's enormous salary, however, makes this move unlikely.

Juventus know that this is a complicated operation, but the injury to ex-Barça player Arthur, who will be out of action for three months, has forced the Turin-based club to look for midfield reinforcements, and it is rumoured that Pjanic is being considered.
