Juventus have interfered between FC Barcelona and one of their long-term targets, Boca Juniors defender Leonardo Balerdi.

The Italian club have made moves in recent months to tie down the centre-back. Balerdi joined Boca when he was 14 from Sportivo Pueyrredón, where he played in midfield.

His height (1.87m) and good technique have allowed him to develop into a ball-playing defender. He is also good in the air.

Barcelona have followed him for a while and have looked into the possibility of securing a first option on the 19-year-old, with the idea of him continuing his development at Boca.

The last offer was 5.5 million dollars, after an initial bid of four million, but the Argentine club rejected both bids.

Now, the Catalan club face competition from Juve, although he's a long-term option. He's made just one first team appearance for Boca this season, against Huracán (0-0).
