Juve go all out for Arthur but the Brazilian resists their advances

The Italians pushed over the weekend but he wants to stay at Barcelona

Negotiations between Barcelona and Juventus over an exchange deal have reached a key moment. The Italian side have gone all out for Arthur Melo, putting pressure on him even though his intention is to stay at Camp Nou.

Arthur told Juve thanks but no thanks and then spoke with Barça on Monday to express, once again, his desire to stay put ahead of the return of LaLiga next month.

Juve spoke with Arthur's people over the weekend to confirm their interest in him. But Arthur declined the chance to move to Juve, despite the fact Barça were open to including him in a swap deal for Miralem Pjanic.

Arthur and his father met with Barça on Monday. The Blaugrana wanted to know first hand about reports from Italy saying the midfielder was closer to the Serie A side. He denied the speculation and reiterated his desire to stay at Barça.

Barcelona were keen to swap him for Bosnian international Pjanic but gave him complete freedom to make his own mind up.

The 23-year-old is very happy in Barça and flattered by Juve's interest, but wants to continue in Catalonia. Let's see how that affects Barça's desire to sign Pjanic.
