Jules Kounde seems poised to sign for Chelsea
The French defender was a top target for Xavi but the Blues offer is hard to beat
Jules Koundé looks like he's heading for Chelsea. In the battle with Barcelona the Blues seem to have moved ahead with Radio Sevilla reporting that Chelsea have proposed a €60 million offer which will be accepted by the Andalusian club.
Koundé prefers the idea of moving to Barcelona but the economic difference between the two offers is big. Barcelona are willing to pay 45 million at most for the French centre-back and Chelsea's proposal is significantly larger. They are willing to pay €45 million upfront with the rest in various stages and objectives.
Obviously the offer to the player is high as well and difficult for Kounde to reject as much as he would like to play for Barcelona.
Everything now seems set for Kounde to sign for Chelsea and Barcelona may well end up without a player that Xavi Hernandez was very keen on signing.
