Jules Kounde has not told Barcelona that he's going to Chelsea

The French defender is a target for Barcelona but also Chelsea and they have a deal with Sevilla

Jules Kounde has become the subject of the latest transfer saga. Barcelona know it will be tricky to sign him, but they aren’t throwing in the towel because neither the player nor his agent have told him they are going to accept Chelsea’s offer. In fact, Barcelona have asked Kounde to hold on and they will try to bring him in, if that’s what he wants. Barça are paying attention to the London club’s moves but Kounde deciding to head to Portugal with Sevilla has handed the Catalans hope.

Sevilla and Chelsea have a deal for around 55 million euros plus 5m in variables. Jorge Mendes is an intermediary in the deal and Barcelona are informed of the situation by him. From there, the club are pressuring the player to hold on a bit longer, which they probably won’t be able to complete until the third lever is pulled. It’s in Kounde’s hands, with the player keen on coming to Barcelona.

The Blaugrana have not made any offer but have communicated their interest to the player. On the other hand, Sevilla are in a hurry to sell because they need the money to sign players. The Andalusian club can’t wait longer and Chelsea don’t ant to either. If Kounde decides to wait, then anything could happen.
