The president backed the coach and says he will remain at the helm of Barcelona
Josep Maria Bartomeu has ratified and confirmed that Ernesto Valverde will be staying at Barcelona during the presentation of the book Kuala.
“The planning for next season is already underway, for some time. There are layers that have been signed and we will talk about it after the (Copa) final. Valverde I said the other day has the support of the president and its board. He’s the coach that we want. This is a medium to long term project. He has a contract and we’re very happy with him. Now it’s about the players recovering from the blow to their morale.”
Bartomeu avoided talking about transfers and Antoine Griezmann, praised the women’s team for reaching the Champions League final and said: “We’re very proud. It was an objective for the years ahead and now the girls deserve a good result. We will keep going with and investing in women’s football, not just at professional level but at youth level too.”
