The player's father spoke as he left the Catalan city on Thursday

Jorge Messi left the city of Barcelona on Thursday after a short stay, leaving behind a strong sentence: "I don't think Leo will ever play for Barça again".

After Messi rejected, for now, a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain, the player's father travelled to Barcelona, where they have the family home.

Now, a few hours later, he has already ended his visit to Catalonia, but not before being caught by SPORT at the airport of El Prat in the city.

"The conditions are not right. We have not spoken with [Barça president Joan] Laporta and there is no offer," said the Barça legend's father just before catching a plane.

His son has not yet renewed his contract with PSG. It seems that, for the moment, he has no intention of doing so. In just over four months, he will become a free agent.

According to l'Équipe, he has not yet extended the lease on his private mansion in Neuilly-sur-Seine, either, which also expires in the summer.
