Jorge Messi lands in Barcelona with Leo future at stake
The Argentine's contract expires in little over a couple of months so it's crunch time
Jorge Messi, Leo’s father and advisor, is in Barcelona. He watched Barca B vs Villarreal B at Barca’s training facilities, accompanied by Leo Messi’s brother. His father arriving could indicate that contract talks are to begin over Leo’s future.
Messi’s contract expires in the summer but new president Joan Laporta is confident he will stay.
Jorge was in Argentine and the USA in recent weeks, with Barcelona hoping the team’s recent improvement will be enough to convince Messi to stay.
There is not expected to be a meeting immediately because Jorge is expected to go to Milan for personal reasons. Barca’s new board are waiting for the internal audit to finish before they know what they can offer Messi.
Last summer Man City wanted him and PSG are interested too. It will be an interesting few weeks…
