Jordi Cruyff waiting for Laporta's Barca to contact Shenzhen
The son of Johan is set to take on the sporting director role under Laporta's administration
Little by little the details of Joan Laporta's project at Barcelona are becoming known. Jordi Cruyff is waiting for Barcelona to contact Shenzhen FC, so he can return to the Catalan club after the new president got in touch with him to offer him a job at Camp Nou.
Cruyff still has one year left on his contract in China and wants to do things right. He wants to strike a friendly agreement with the Chinese Super League club to depart for Barça.
"Anything relating to my future must be approved by my current team," Cruyff said after Laporta's victory in the election on Sunday.
During the campaign, above all when Victor Font announced he would be part of his team if he was elected Barça president, Cruyff made it clear that he didn't want to be involved in the electoral trail.
He has never closed the doors on a return to Camp Nou, but didn't want to side with one candidate and didn't want to disrespect his current club.
Now, however, things have changed. Not only has the institutional chaos at Barça come to an end, but he's also been formally contacted by Laporta.
