Jordi Cruyff: Frenkie de Jong is a player valued at Barca and we won't sell him

The sporting advisor spoke about the Dutch midfielder whom there are questions over

After the 1-0 defeat by Rayo Vallecano, Jordi Cruyff was critical of the refereeing and the performance shown by Barcelona. However he did send Frenkie de Jong a wink, after the rumours that he could leave.

The sporting advisor was comprehensive when asked about the Dutch midfielder, who has been linked with Manchester United.

“We will not sell Frenkie de Jong, he’s a player valued highly within the club.”

On the penalty that was not given on Gavi, Cruyff had no way to understand why not.

“For me, I don’t like to complain when I lose and blame others, but it seemed like there was something there, he was one on one with the keeper, the last thing he wants to do is go down and I’m surprised that they did not see it. But we have to looks for solutions, although in this case it seemed to me to be a penalty.”

Cruyff also sent the team a direct message. “We have to put our batteries in again and win.”
