Jordi Alba set for two to three weeks sidelined with hamstring injury
The club confirmed Alba will be out of action for the time being
Barcelona have confirmed that Jordi Alba has a hamstring injury but have not revealed how long the defender will be sidelined for.
Alba was taken off in the first half of Tuesday's goalless draw at Borussia Dortmund with the problem.
"Tests carried out have shown that first-team player Jordi Alba has a hamstring injury in his left leg," the club said in a statement on Wednesday.
"The player is now unavailable for action and his recovery will dictate his return."
Sources have told SPORT that Alba will be out for two to three weeks.
Therefore, he will definitely miss the next three league games against Granada, Villarreal and Getafe.
He could return for the Champions League game against Inter at Camp Nou on Oct. 2 or the home game against Sevilla on Oct.6 in La Liga.
Junior Firpo, a summer signing from Real Betis, will now have a chance to play a few games for his new club.
