The Barcelona left-back spent years with Valencia but some are angry he left

Barcelona defender Jordi Alba will visit hostile territory on Sunday. Despite spending a good part of his career at Valencia and having success there, a sector of the fans have not forgiven him for leaving to join Barcelona. Every time he returns he gets whistled by some fans, which Alba does not like.

"I only ask the Valencia fans to have a bit more respect," said Alba. "The treatment here is not all good for me. I gave everything to Valencia, they have to understand that I came home. It's a pity they receive me like that because I am grateful to Valencia."

Alba came to Valencia from Cornella, growing into the first team there after Unai Emery converted him to left-back from left wing. In 2012 he joined Barcelona.

"I arrived for free and I left a lot of money there," said Alba, referring to his sale to Barca.
